The first bud bursts of the season!

Gold Dragon Persimmons

This week we are seeing more greens along with the browns in the orchard as the buds on some trees are beginning to burst! This means its a critical time to manage earwigs as they love to eat the core of the bud. The earwig is both a friend and enemy. In the early spring they are a pest but later in the year they are beneficial insects, as they eat the other pest species of insects that cause damage at another stage of growth. -Isobella
