Over the last weekend I went to university in Wagga Wagga, NSW, to attend intensive school for one of my subjects i am doing in my Bachelor of horticulture degree. As part of the class I got to dissect many different flowers and identify all the different parts of the flower.
The first and second image is of a poppy flower.
In the first image you can see the ovaries. Each of those small little balls are what turn into the seeds when the flower matures!
The second image is a photo of the male parts of the flower (called stamens) and you can see all the pollen grains on the stamen.
